Vladislav Urban, born 1937 Pilsen, Czechoslovakia, is a glass and jewellery designer. Urban, among others, was instrumental in the evolution of Czech pressed glass production. This midcentury modern lovely heavy amber pressed glass vase from 1968, has an abstract design of circles and intersecting lines that terminates as protrusion in the vase.

Vladislav Urban was born in Pilsen in 1937. He studied jewelery design and craftsmanshift at the Jewelery school in Turnov and then at the Prague Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design. He was trained in glass sculpture at the studios of Prof. Arch. Karel Stipl, Assoc. Prof. Vaclav Platek and Prof. Jozef Soukup (Prof. Jan Bauch).
